"The Senator" once stood as a living witness to the unfolding of centuries, embodying the enduring spirit of nature. Amidst changing landscapes and evolving civilizations, this venerable tree became a symbol of quiet resilience, weathering storms and embracing the cycles of life.

At one time this Tree was thought to be the 5th oldest tree in the world and the biggest tree east of the Mississippi. To make this image I had to composite 3 images photographed in 2008 together to capture the scale and grandeur of this tree and its surroundings.
